Above Roof Trusses

Installing insulation above the trusses is used when a building owner would like to eliminate the extra space above the roof trusses, but also keep the trusses exposed.  This method gives the pole building a flat ceiling, but keeps the “barn feel”.  Fiberglass insulation blankets are cut the same size and width of the trusses. Steel banding is installed or screwed to the top of the bottom chord of the trusses.  The insulation blankets sit on top of the installed banding.  This leaves the trusses exposed, keeping the pole building’s barn feel.  It is important to ventilate above the fiberglass blankets, similar to a home attic.  This will help to prevent condensation
